Mr. Weihong Chen has been recommended as candidate for the top ten charitable characters

    October 25 is the annual "Dongguan Charity Day.” Recently, according to the first "Dongguan Charity Day" program, Dongguan launched the first "Top Ten Charities People" contest. The event was organized by the Dongguan Civil Affairs Bureau, co-sponsored by Municipal Civilization Office, Municipal Health Bureau, the Youth League, City CDPF, City charity, City Red Cross, City Samaritan Foundation, Education Development Foundation of Dongguan Institute, Dongguan Press Media Group. The selection combined review panel and the public to vote, review panel weighted 70%, public to vote weighted 30%. Dongguan Time Website was chosen as the voting system network platform, accepting public vote, soliciting views of the community. Review panel assessed the candidates with the public vote, selected 10 people as the first Dongguan "Ten charitable people", and reported for government approval.

 

    Given Mr. Weihong Chen’s outstanding contributions to the charitable career, Dongguan Civil Affairs Bureau recommended Mr. Weihong Chen for the election. Vote started in Dongguan Daily Newspaper and Dongguan Charity Website on September 25. Students, disaster areas and related units that were previously funded by Mr. Weihong Chen called the office asking the voting method, as charity beneficiaries, they highly supported the social significance of this contest; they mobilized teachers and students, friends, customers, and other social resources, to vote for Mr. Weihong Chen, to promote the development of philanthropy, so that more people who need help will be helped.

 

    By the end of September 28, 2010, Weihong Chen ranked No.4 among the 20 candidates with more than 6,000 public votes. Public voting deadline is October 10, 2010; the final selection results will be announced in Dongguan Charity Day on October 25.
